As you know, all of our beer names are Myths, Legends, or Tails of the region of origin. Since this is an experimental “thiolized yeast”, you may ask what is “thiolized yeast”? It is a yeast that has been modified to release bound thiols found in the wort to maximize the tropical fruit character in the beer (kind of mad scientist geeky). Since this APA is a new RVA creation, our customers helped us find the local Legend of a Vampire living in Hollywood Cemetery.
RVA Vampire – This pale ale is bursting with vibrant grapefruit aroma and flavors of citrus and tropical fruit.
5.4% ABV | 53 IBU | 12 SRM | Style: American Pale Ale
The Legend of RVA Vampire: Mr Pool’s mausoleum (1913) claims to have the remains of a vampire. Mr Pool was run out of England for allegedly being a vampire. As the urban legend is told, a worker escaped during the deadly Church Hill train tunnel collapse of 1925 and ran into Pool’s mausoleum, never to be found again.
